Modern, young and contemporary: As of May 2015, ZDF's weekly newsletter shines in new splendour. The design and implementation is in the hands of Plan.Net Connect, the Plan.Net group's specialist in e-Dialog, which won the budget for the Mainz broadcaster's newsletter last year.
Munich, 19 June 2015 — Plan.Net Connect was able to prevail in a pitch and win the budget for ZDF's weekly newsletter. In May 2015, the first mailing was sent with a new design.
"The newsletter complements our campaign activities and allows us to address target groups directly. Plan.Net Connect won the pitch due to its technical know-how and a modern, varied layout proposal. The new design allows us to represent the entire family of channels and make their differences perceptible for users." says Thomas Grimm, Head of Marketing at ZDF.
Every Friday recipients receive the latest information on the next week as well as on ZDF online content and ZDF's family of channels in the newsletter. In addition, content from the media centre or lesser-known formats will, in future, come into focus.
In addition to the new look, Plan.Net Connect has optimized the newsletter for mobile devices and revised the landing page (http://newsletter.zdf.de). In addition, the users have access to new functions, such as receiving reminders about selected programmes, or a WhatsApp option, which allows the receiver to pass on announcements about individual programmes to friends. The contents are already tailored to individual subscribers, but the degree of personalization will also be increased from mailing to mailing by means of a web-preference centre.
"With the new newsletter, ZDF stands above comparable services from other stations significantly. And that was just the beginning. More measures, which will make the newsletter more personal and relevant, will follow. "says Alexander Emmendorfer, Managing Director of Plan.Net Connect.
To advertise the new offer, ZDF produced a tongue-in-cheek ad with William Cohn, known from the TV show "Neo Magazine Royale". In it, Cohn is, as digitization representative of ZDF, in charge of the implementation of the newsletter. But for this task, what he lacks in digital expertise, he makes up with dedication.
